Mods, feel free to delete/move if this is in the wrong forum.

I've been watching a lot of Asian YouTuber/Vloggers lately as a way to feel like I'm traveling while stuck at home. They tend to never show their faces and the chit-chat you usually get from their western/English speaking counterparts is really minimal, so I find them pretty relaxing. Here's a list of some of my favorites who all have English subtitles, would love to get recs for more if you follow any, especially if they're in other countries besides South Korea and Japan.

PlanD (South Korea)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPaApoLkmPqxCeZF7gjoc3w

She's a freelance seamstress, homebody, and generally crafty person. If you like watching people make simple Korean dishes at home I highly recommend her.

HYONYEO (South Korea)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYo5wuzNmJ3wrAvWSkYex_w

She recently opened up her own cafe and her vlogs mostly consist of the set-up and running of that, working out, and eating/cooking.

Hanaco (Japan)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUfkWqBM8XQovS3vX6t0EGQ

She's an office worker who also shows how to make a lot of simple Japanese dishes at home.

Angoo/Your Korean Friend (South Korea)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaPQb6zHlBXzdMW_QzKh1Kw

ARMYs probably know about her already, she's a mid-20s(?) full-time YTer whose content revolves around BTS: DIYs, product reviews, etc.

Mori's House (Japan)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwZl6TAgK7acAuYIBWg69Jg

Do you like organization? Watching videos that inspire you to clean? She's a housewife/former video editor who takes organization and cleaning to the next level without being scary about it. Her stuff is really well shot and edited.

Not really a recommendation as she's more of a WTF-watch:

SEYOUNGDAY (South Korea)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDs_Vxa5FgYjHehihXtdA7w

Her décor and aesthetic is the polar opposite of mine (pink leather couch, pink refrigerator?!), but I'm hella amused that her husband is totally down for her completely contrived YouTube life and lightweight Stepford Wives-vibe. At least she makes me feel like a better cook.

I 'll have to go down this list later.. I keep getting recommended channels but haven't watched any consistently yet...Good thread  idea!

Idk who this binnie person is but I love Darcei and this video is hilarious.

??????

The Mulan to Ariana Grande comment made me choke. ?

Jumped to Binnie's channel and now I'm aware of a whole new side of YouTube. I'm not sure if this awareness is a good thing, but shout out to this dude for monetizing. haha

I attempted to listen to the Noona one and...

1) THIS IS REALLY A THING

2) Oh god, my algorithm

3) I can't unhear him pretend kissing his "noona"

No judgement if this floats anyone's boat, though. (I mean, it obviously does 'cause dude has almost 100k subscribers.)

I don't think I'm brave enough to click on a video but I can 100% see this being popular. ?

Those 'X' Idol's Moans videos do numbers on YT and I'm sure he's really popular with teens or young teens that are horny but too scared to look up actual porn lol.

The only Asian channels I'm subscribed to are for cooking, mukbangs and nail videos

I watch a lot of korean vloggers, for the same reason of finding them relaxing.

Jody조디 - I like her style

https://www.youtube.com/user/crtisyu4l89/videos

y.na__homecafe - cute beverages

Yo'HomeGirl - Her style is very unique and I enjoy her vlogs

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgIw1ct7zkdXY65gBCXfWAQ

Yoo's Beauty 희주 - I like her makeup

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgCxYP5uSCNyFTV-PEbKhew

리아일기Lya - I like to watch her cook

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNaFCDXiYcAf8bmXbdkY9mw

I didn't realize this thread was a thing.

I used to watch Megan when I first got into Kpop, she actually introduced me to a few groups (like ToppDogg). I see she's married now and she seems to still have good content, so I might start watching her again.

If anyone knows of a a channel that talks about drama (like LovelyTi does) or everything wrong with their society (like Kenya does), I would quickly subscribe. I would also be interested in a channel that focuses on lifestyle/vlogging.

I follow these folks too! After watching a bunch of other English teachers in Korea with vlogs YoHomeGirl is the only one I stuck with since she's the most interesting to me and seems to have a good mix of content.

I love the vloggers that straight up admit they're homebodies and don't try to create some artificially interesting life just for their channel. Sueddu's really good at that.

Liziqi

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoC47do520os_4DBMEFGg4A

She's very hands-on and DIY. She posts some cute, some traditional, and some cosmetic recipes.

I really want to know the story behind this woman because her stuff is produced and shot so well that I swear she has some major corporate sponsor behind the scenes. The conspiracy theorist in my head is like, "This is propaganda to make people want to move to the country and stop the overpopulation of China's cities!" ?

"See what awaits you, in XX~" lol

I've always wondered that, myself, and I wouldn't be surprised- but I want to believe width=30pxhttps://cdn.discordapp.com/emojis/773744868446306334.gif?v=1[/img]

This woman must be WEALTHY, not just rich but wwweeaalltthhyyy if all her videos are netting over 2 Mill views EACH. The quality is insane?? There are people really out here living like this?? Absolutely magical.

She just earned a sub from me, I'm trying to learn mandarin so this would be good listening practise. Unless she speaks Cantonese, then that would be a disaster for me ?

Right?? Those numbers alone would dramatically upgrade any YTer. The real mystery is how she started off so strong. ?

She speaks/titles her videos in mandarin, so you're good lol

Just found this video that explains her channel's origins a bit

Youtube is such a weird place, there are channels I never would have thought existed pulling hundreds of millions of views and sometimes it's just a girl in a van or a couple that lives in the sewers or something lol. People are strange.

Whew okay! I watched one video and I was pretty sure she did but my Mandarin is terrible, so I couldn't be sure. ?

Natalie is one of my favorite YouTubers, often a lot of YouTubers who teach or taught in Asia make their channels revolve around that which can get boring. I mainly like her for her vlogs and fashion videos, she is a big risk-taker.

I feel like Lizqi is Chinese propaganda because I follow other Chinese chefs and only one compares with her in terms of views. Her channel is based on bringing tourism and education to her region.

Looking over her videos this and what @HellaKitty said make so much sense. It’s crazy how well produced and crisp the videos are shot while she apparently loves on a very lush and beautiful farm with her grandma and family? At any rate the cinematography is beautiful and the propaganda is working because I want to visit this mystical place she lives in lol.

I didn't even know there was a side of youtube like that. I mean...whatever gets you the coin.Tctc.gif

I like Darcei, I just feel like she is reading too much into this Binnie thing. I view it as them collaborating, but I feel like she is reading too much into it & it's not a good look.

I like Darcei too, I think she's hilarious but I'm still confused over the Binnie stuff. At first I thought she was just trolling and collaborating with him now idk.

Have you seen her latest video where she did a q&a about Binnie? I haven't seen it yet, maybe she set the record straight in that video.
